One Dead, Several Injured in Shooting at Swiss Rave

A shooting at a rave party at a racetrack in the Swiss city of Aarau left one person dead and at least five injured on Sunday, several of them seriously. The suspected perpetrator fled the scene, and police have launched a massive manhunt.

In response, authorities sealed off large areas of the city and, as a precaution, increased police presence in the surrounding region. Investigators have also called on the public to provide any video footage or photographs.

Switzerland has one of the highest rates of gun ownership in Europe, yet such shootings remain rare in the country, partly due to stricter gun control legislation passed in 2019.
