Poland Accuses Russia of Hybrid Attacks

Russian Ambassador Georgy Mikhno is expected to be summoned to the Polish Foreign Ministry as Warsaw steps up its response to what it describes as Russia’s aggressive actions in the region.

Polish diplomats say several countries are facing similar Russian activities, pointing to the attempted attack at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany. Berlin announced on Tuesday that its investigation had concluded Russia was behind the August incident. Germany responded by ordering the closure of the Russian Consulate General in Bonn and the Russian House in Berlin.

Poland has also been investigating fires at facilities involved in the aerospace and drone industries. Prime Minister Donald Tusk said there was “no doubt” that a fire at a WB Electronics facility in Skarżysko-Kamienna was deliberately set, describing it as an act of sabotage.

However, Tusk said there was not yet evidence that a separate fire at an aerospace components facility in Lublin was deliberate, although arson had not been ruled out.
