Russian Strike Kills One in Kyiv
A Russian attack on Kyiv killed one person on Thursday evening, triggering a fire and badly damaging a high-rise residential building, according to local authorities.
The Kyiv Military Administration confirmed the death. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported damage to the ninth floor of a high-rise residence in a district just outside the city center. Fifteen people were evacuated from the building.
Videos posted on unofficial Telegram channels showed a large fireball rising above the city. The channels reported that the building had been struck by a jet-powered drone.
Klitschko reported that six people had been injured in earlier strikes on Kyiv. The Ukrainian capital has been subjected to more than a week of sustained attacks.
