Russia Claims EU Troops Are Fighting in Ukraine

Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) chief Sergey Naryshkin claimed that Russian forces had spotted military personnel from EU countries on the battlefield in Ukraine, but presented no evidence to support the allegation, according to Czech news outlet Echo24.

Naryshkin said EU countries were directly involved in the fighting on Ukraine’s side and were pursuing a hostile policy toward Russia, pointing to their provision of weapons, ammunition and intelligence to Kyiv.

He also accused European politicians of exploiting fears of Russia to increase military spending, put industry on a military footing and modernize military and transport infrastructure.

Naryshkin said several European intelligence services expect Ukraine’s ability to mobilize troops to be virtually exhausted within a year. He claimed Europe already has a “Plan B” for such a scenario: the militarization of Europe itself.
