Israel Strikes Southern Lebanon, Killing Three

The Israeli military struck southern Lebanon on Friday, saying Hezbollah had sent a drone toward Israeli soldiers. Three people were killed and another 23 injured in the strikes, the Lebanese ministry of health said. Among the injured were medical personnel, women and children.

The Lebanese state news agency NNA reported Israeli attacks in several locations in the south of the country. Hezbollah did not immediately comment on the military's claim regarding the drone attack. Since 2 March, more than 4,300 people have been killed in Israeli strikes in Lebanon.

Tensions continue despite a ceasefire announced in June. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz also announced on Friday that the army had driven Hezbollah fighters out of tunnels beneath the strategic Ali al-Taher ridge in southern Lebanon. The military said it had gained operational control of the ridge and killed some of the fighters, while others fled.
