Witkoff and Kushner Arrive in Moscow for Ukraine Talks
US Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow on Saturday for talks on the war in Ukraine, two sources familiar with the visit confirmed to Reuters.
They were greeted at the airport by Russian President Vladimir Putin's special envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, who had also attended all of their previous meetings with Putin. The motorcade carrying the three officials then headed to Moscow.
US President Donald Trump hinted on Friday that Washington has a new, concrete proposal to end the war, though he gave no details.
After their visit to Russia, Witkoff and Kushner are scheduled to travel to Ukraine on Sunday. President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that Russia had struck two Ukrainian airports before their arrival in Kyiv.
Moscow and Kyiv's positions on ending the war remain far apart. On Friday, the Kremlin reiterated that Putin's demand, that Ukraine cede the entire territory of the four regions claimed by Russia and abandon its plans to join NATO, remains unchanged.
