Turning Point Grows as Young Men Drift from Trump

A year after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, Turning Point USA, the organization he co-founded, has experienced massive growth. The number of its chapters at high schools and colleges has increased significantly, solidifying its position in Republican politics.

The 31-year-old activist is being remembered at the Republican Party’s midterm convention as Utah prosecutors seek the death penalty for his killer. Despite the organization’s growth, however, Republicans are facing a serious decline in support among young men, who were a key factor in Donald Trump’s electoral comeback.

Party leaders and analysts point to growing frustration among young people over the high cost of living, the war in Iran and the handling of the Epstein case. Support for Trump among men aged 18 to 29 has fallen from 43% in February to 32%.

Although Turning Point has built a strong electoral infrastructure, experts say it lacks a central mobilizing theme following the decline of the progressive agendas it once organized against.
