Zelensky Rules Out Peace Talks Before Russian Vote

A trilateral meeting aimed at ending the war in Ukraine will not take place before Russia’s parliamentary elections, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday.

Ukrainian and US negotiators remain in constant contact, according to Zelensky. He hopes for progress in talks on energy and grain at the end of September following his meeting with US President Donald Trump.

Russia’s parliamentary elections are scheduled for 20 September.
