German Intelligence: Hamas Built Secret Attack Networks

German federal prosecutors in Berlin have charged seven alleged Hamas members with membership in a foreign terrorist organization and with planning an attack. According to the prosecutor's office, the men acted on instructions from senior Hamas officials and procured a fully automatic rifle, 13 handguns and more than 700 rounds of ammunition.

The weapons were allegedly intended for an attack planned for early October 2025 in Germany or Austria, marking the second anniversary of the Hamas attacks on Israel on 7 October 2023. The intended targets were Israeli officials, Jews or pro-Israel individuals.

Germany's domestic intelligence service said the foiled plot pointed to efforts by Hamas, or individuals associated with it, to build secret logistical networks in Germany to procure weapons and plan attacks.

German security agencies have repeatedly warned that militant groups have called for violence against Jews in Germany since the 7 October 2023 attacks.

All seven suspects remain in custody.
