Trump Rejects AI Regulation in Race with China

During a visit to his golf resort in Ireland, US President Donald Trump rejected calls to slow the development of artificial intelligence or impose stricter regulations on it. He said fears of humanity's downfall are being spread by "very negative forces" describing scenarios that will never come to pass.

Trump emphasized that the US currently leads China in AI and that his top priority is to maintain global leadership, as the winner in this sector will gain global dominance.

His remarks came in response to reports from researchers at Anthropic, who warned of the risk of human extinction due to uncontrolled AI advancement. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei also called for slowing development and better risk management, while other experts advocate for international coordination with China.

The Trump administration, however, continues to provide massive support to technology companies and rejects measures that could slow the US pace in the technology race.
