Italy Extends Schengen Suspension with Spain
Italy will extend its suspension of the European Union’s open-border arrangements with Spain for another 15 days, the Italian Interior Ministry announced.
The ministry cited persistent serious risks to internal security and a potential threat linked to terrorist infiltration.
Italy first suspended Schengen arrangements with Spain on 31 July in response to a mass influx of migrants into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta from neighboring Morocco.
