Tiger Woods Fuels Comeback Speculation
Tiger Woods has been seen hitting balls again, fueling speculation that the golf legend could be considering a return to competition. The 50-year-old American was filmed working on his tee shot at Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey on Tuesday.
Woods has not committed to a comeback. He is in New Jersey for the Nexus Cup, an exclusive amateur team competition he hosts to benefit his TGR Foundation, and was taking part in a clinic associated with the event. Asked about the state of his game, the 15-time major champion replied: “I can hit pretty much anything.”
Health problems have severely disrupted Woods’s career in recent years, and he has not competed in any event since 2024. A car crash in 2021 left him with serious injuries to his lower right leg, while he has undergone seven back surgeries, including a disk replacement.
Woods has not won a tournament since the accident, with his last victory coming at the 2019 Zozo Championship. The latest footage has again raised the prospect of a return to competitive golf.
