Vucic Opens Factory for Israeli Drones
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on Instagram on Thursday the opening of a new plant for the assembly of state-of-the-art Israeli-made drones.
The unmanned aerial vehicles manufactured at the facility will be intended primarily to supply the Serbian army, though there are also plans to export them to the armed forces of other countries. The new factory will employ about 100 people.
However, due to the highly confidential nature of the production process, journalists were not invited to the official opening of the facility.
Vucic released only limited footage from inside the factory and said the public would be amazed by what is being produced there. He added that the Serbian government, working with Israeli partners, plans to open at least three more similar factories across the country.
