Trump Seeks Control of Health Research Funding

US President Donald Trump is seeking to take control of a significant portion of government funding for health research, Politico reported on Saturday.

Trump has tasked his budget director, Russ Vought, with drafting an executive order to establish a council that would decide on grants funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the outlet said, citing two administration officials who were briefed on the meeting.
