The seventh candidate of the AfD has passed away. In Germany, this is giving rise to speculation

Fears and speculation are growing in Germany after the seventh candidate from the right-wing AfD party in North Rhine-Westphalia has died. Hans-Joachim Kind (80) succumbed to a long illness, with police seeing no signs of foul play, reports the European Conservative website.

The AfD emphasizes that several of the deceased were people with health problems. Nevertheless, after the fourth death, there were voices that described this as a “statistically almost impossible” coincidence.
Co-chair Alice Weidel sparked a discussion that journalist Pauline von Pezold described as damaging to voters' trust in democracy. Kay Gottschalk promised that the party would treat the cases with due caution.

Meanwhile, journalist Rod Dreher expressed hope that the deaths were just an unfortunate coincidence, especially given that the government is considering banning the AfD itself.
