OpenAI has dramatically increased its spending. Up to $45 billion will be spent by 2028

OpenAI has significantly increased its forecast for spending in the field of artificial intelligence. This year alone, the company expects costs to exceed $8 billion, which is $1.5 billion more than originally planned.
According to a report in The Information newspaper, this spending could rise to as much as $45 billion by 2028.

The sharp increase in spending is linked to the massive use of cloud servers and ambitious plans to develop its own chips. OpenAI aims to produce its first chip in collaboration with Broadcom as early as 2026, although this will be for internal use only.

At the same time, the company has deepened its partnership with Oracle as part of the Stargate project, which aims to achieve data center capacity of up to 10 gigawatts. Google Cloud and SoftBank are also involved in the infrastructure.

The move to develop its own chips indicates OpenAI's desire to reduce costs and gain more control over the computing power that drives its systems.
