A drone has crashed in eastern Poland. Presumably contraband goods

According to the private radio station RMF FM, a drone crashed near the village of Majdan-Sielec in eastern Poland.

It landed about 500 meters from residential buildings, prompting security forces to intervene. The information was confirmed by the police.

Poland remains on high alert for violations of its airspace, especially after the incident in 2022 when a Ukrainian missile struck a Polish village in the south of the country, killing two people.

A similar incident occurred in August when a drone crashed in a field, with the investigator suggesting that it may have crossed the border from Belarus. It was likely a smuggling drone, a Defense Ministry spokesman said on Saturday.

The Polish army and security forces are monitoring the situation closely.

In August, a drone crashed into a cornfield in eastern Poland. The prosecutor investigating the incident said at the time that the drone appeared to have flown into Poland from Belarus, an ally of Russia.
