Poland contradicts Trump: Drone strike was not an accident, but intentional

Polish government officials have rejected US President Donald Trump's claim that the Russian drone incursion into Poland may have been a mistake.

According to Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk, it was a clear, deliberate attack that cannot be explained away as a mistake.

On Wednesday, Poland shot down enemy drones with the support of NATO fighter jets—the first known case of a member state of the alliance actively targeting Russian targets during the war in Ukraine.

Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski also commented, emphasizing that the Russian attacks that same night had hit not only Poland but also Ukraine, where over 400 drones and 40 missiles had fallen.

This clearly showed that it had been a coordinated operation.

Warsaw also requested a meeting of the UN Security Council, which is to take place on Friday afternoon in New York.
