An oil refinery burned in the Russian city of Ufa; a drone attack hit the facility
In the Russian region of Bashkortostan, a fire broke out at the facilities of the oil company Bashneft on Saturday after a drone attack. Governor Radiy Chabirov said that it was a terrorist attack using unmanned aircraft.
One of the drones was shot down over the production site and subsequently caused a fire, which was brought under control.
The second drone was also rendered harmless. Chabirov assured that there were no casualties. Although the governor did not mention Ukraine, attacks on infrastructure within Russian territory are an increasingly common phenomenon in the context of the ongoing conflict.
Unconfirmed videos posted on local Telegram channels show an object flying into the site, followed by a large explosion. The city of Ufa, where the incident took place, is located about 1,400 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
