Turkish airline orders 225 Boeings after meeting between Trump and Erdogan

Turkish Airlines announced on Friday that it will order 225 aircraft from Boeing. Specifically, this involves 75 B787 Dreamliner aircraft, 50 of which are firm orders and 25 are options, with deliveries scheduled for 2029 to 2034.

At the same time, the company has concluded negotiations with Boeing for a further 150 737-8/10 MAX aircraft (100 firm orders and 50 options), with the purchase contingent on the outcome of negotiations with engine manufacturer CFM International.

Turkish Airlines is negotiating with Rolls-Royce and GE Aerospace for the Dreamliner's engines and with CFM International for the 737 MAX models. The airline announced that this purchase will support its fleet plan with an average annual traffic growth of six percent.

The Turkish airline announced the order one day after the meeting between President Erdogan and President Trump, which also discussed issues related to sanctions and the purchase of American aircraft for Turkey.
