Von der Leyen on the war in Gaza: Trump's proposal is an opportunity that must be seized

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, welcomes US President Donald Trump's peace plan to end the war in Gaza.

In her statement on Platform X, she praised Trump's commitment and called on all parties to the conflict not to let this opportunity pass. She emphasized the EU's willingness to actively participate in the peace process and provide humanitarian aid.

At the same time, she called for an immediate end to the fighting, the release of all hostages, and rapid assistance for civilians in Gaza.
