Germany also raises the issue of protection against drones in EU negotiations

German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt announced that he would also address the issue of drone defense at the upcoming meeting of European interior ministers, which was originally dedicated to migration.

The occasion was an incident in which a drone sighted near Munich Airport caused its temporary closure for several hours.

Dobrindt emphasized that it was necessary to intensify research into systems for defending against threats posed by drones. He stressed that this was a security policy challenge that EU countries would have to tackle together.

The topic of drone protection will thus complement the already planned discussions on migration during the summit in Munich this weekend.
