Trump wants to know how Ukraine plans to use Tomahawks
US President Donald Trump has expressed doubts about supplying American Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. He said that before agreeing to the deal, he would like to know how Kiev plans to use them. He emphasized that he did not want to contribute to a further escalation of the conflict with Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is calling on the US to allow the transfer via European countries. The missiles have a range of up to 2,500 kilometers, which would significantly expand Ukraine's strike capabilities – even against targets deep inside Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that supplying these missiles to Ukraine would seriously damage relations between Moscow and Washington.
Trump has not yet made an official decision, but admitted that he had “already decided in a way” – but first he wanted to ask Ukraine a few questions.
There has been no response from the Kremlin or the Zelensky government so far.
