Tusk: The problem is not the explosion of Nord Stream 2, but that it was built
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk sparked diplomatic tensions with his statement on social media that “the problem with Nord Stream 2 is not that it was blown up, but that it was built in the first place.”
He was responding to Poland's refusal to extradite Volodymyr, the Ukrainian responsible for the explosion of the gas pipeline.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó reacted sharply, calling Tusk's words shocking and warning that such an attitude legitimizes violence.
In his opinion, this statement raises the question of what might be blown up next and considered justified or even admirable.
Szijjártó added that Hungary did not want a Europe in which prime ministers defended terrorist acts.
