Von der Leyen survives no-confidence votes in the European Parliament

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, survived two votes of no confidence in the European Parliament on Thursday.

A motion of no confidence tabled by the Patriots for Europe (PfE) group was rejected by 378 votes to 179. A second motion from the left failed by 383 votes to 133.

Von der Leyen was thus able to maintain her position in both cases and remains at the helm of the European Commission.
