Thiel warned Musk: Don't let your fortune end up with Gates

Peter Thiel, billionaire and well-known technology investor, recommended that Elon Musk withdraw from the Giving Pledge, an initiative in which billionaires commit to donating most of their wealth to charitable causes.

In Thiel's view, Musk could otherwise unknowingly “support left-wing non-profit organizations selected by Bill Gates.”

This appeal came during a private lecture by Thiel, in which he also expressed his conviction that the world faces a threat from the “Antichrist” – a global figure who could exploit fears of nuclear war, artificial intelligence, or the climate crisis to restrict freedom and halt innovation.

Thiel claims that a large fortune such as Musk's could serve as a defense against such a danger. At the same time, he suggested that US President Donald Trump could also act as a “brake” on this development – or be part of it.

According to Thiel, the richest people think too little about what will happen to their wealth after their death. He sees this as an opportunity for a new understanding of power, responsibility, and the future of civilization.
