Israel begins withdrawal of troops from Gaza

Israel and Hamas have agreed to a ceasefire, as a result of which Israeli units have begun withdrawing from Gaza and some residents have returned to the destroyed neighborhoods. However, many remain uncertain—it is unclear whether the fighting has actually ended.

The first phase of US President Donald Trump's peace initiative includes the exchange of hostages for Palestinian prisoners and the withdrawal of Israeli forces.

The United States is sending 200 soldiers to the region to support stability, but without a direct presence in the Gaza Strip.

The ceasefire is considered the most significant step toward ending two years of bloodshed that has cost more than 67,000 Palestinian lives.

Nevertheless, it remains unclear who will administer Gaza after the war and what fate awaits Hamas.
