Czech military confirms appearance of unknown drones over military facilities

The Czech army has confirmed that foreign unmanned aerial vehicles are flying over military facilities and other infrastructure in the country. It stated that it has the means to detect and neutralize them. This was reported by the Echo24.cz portal, citing information from the General Staff of the Czech Republic's army.

Army spokeswoman Zdeňka Sobarňa Košvancová explained that the specific locations where the drones have appeared cannot be disclosed as this is confidential information. She added that the army communicates regularly with its allies and exchanges information in secure mode.

According to the spokeswoman, the army is prepared to use electronic jamming measures against the drones or even shoot them down. However, the risk of secondary damage is taken into account in such operations. The possibilities for military deployment on the territory of the Czech Republic are regulated by the relevant laws.

The police and military police are also authorized to take action against unmanned aerial vehicles. Similar drone incidents have been reported in several European countries in recent weeks, including Germany, Denmark, Belgium, and Norway. The origin of these overflights is still unknown.
