Emmanuel Macron will appoint a new prime minister in the next few hours

French centrist politician Laurent Panifous announced that President Emmanuel Macron intends to appoint a new prime minister in the coming hours. Panifous announced this decision after a meeting between the head of state and the leaders of the political parties.

Panifous also stated that the president does not intend to dissolve parliament.

The main topic of discussion between Macron and the party leaders was the reform of the pension system, which is sparking major social debate and also leading to budget disputes.

The leader of the French Green Party, Marine Tondelier, stated that Macron would not select the prime minister from among her allies. She recalled that during the meeting, the president had hinted at a possible postponement of the further implementation of the pension reform until the 2027 presidential elections. However, this step was not enough for the Greens to accept the budget.

In addition to the Greens, representatives of other opposition parties, including Socialists and Communists, also expressed their concerns. They refuse to accept a prime minister who comes exclusively from Macron's political camp, especially if they do not receive clear answers to their demands.
