Iran rejects peace with Israel but is open to the US nuclear proposal

Iran has sharply rejected the idea of normalizing relations with Israel, as recently suggested by US President Donald Trump.

In connection with the Abraham Accords, he said that “perhaps Iran will also join,” alluding to the peace agreements Israel signed with four Muslim countries during his first term in office.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi dismissed these considerations as “wishful thinking” and stated that Tehran would never “recognize an occupying regime that has committed genocide and kills children.”

At the same time, however, he hinted that Iran was open to a “fair and balanced” nuclear proposal from the US, suggesting that there may be room for the resumption of negotiations on the nuclear agreement.
