Hamas hands over more bodies of Israeli hostages to the Red Cross
On Monday, the Palestinian militant movement Hamas handed over the remains of two more dead Israeli hostages to the International Committee of the Red Cross, bringing the total number of bodies handed over to four. According to the ceasefire agreement, Hamas was supposed to hand over the remains of 28 hostages, but claims that it does not know where all of them are and that the process will therefore take longer.
At the same time, Hamas has released 20 living Israeli hostages as part of an exchange that is part of US President Donald Trump's peace plan.
According to this plan, all hostages, both living and dead, should be released within 72 hours of the end of the fighting, which ended at noon today.
