Russia accuses NATO of provocations with drones over Europe
According to the RIA Novosti news agency, Alexander Bortnikov, head of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB), stated that NATO intelligence services were behind the recent incidents involving alleged Russian drones over European Union territory.
At a meeting of the Council of Security Services of the Commonwealth of Independent States, he claimed that these provocations were taking place against the backdrop of Western efforts to prepare Europe for a possible military confrontation with Russia.
According to him, the UK is playing a key role in this, supporting the establishment of a no-fly zone over Ukraine and working to form a European military coalition.
Bortnikov also pointed to a connection between the incidents and Russia's so-called “shadow fleet,” which the West describes as a tool for circumventing sanctions. He also mentioned British efforts to establish a naval blockade of Kaliningrad, which, in his opinion, would only further exacerbate tensions in the region.
