Kallas: The nineteenth package of sanctions against Russia will not be the last

EU Foreign Affairs Representative Kaja Kallas stated during European Union negotiations that the 19th package of sanctions against Russia would not be the last. At the same time, she called on the European Commission to prepare new measures to strengthen Ukraine's energy security.

Kallas pointed out that the next package of sanctions would require a more effective, joint, and robust approach to combating the so-called “shadow fleet,” which makes it possible to circumvent European Union sanctions on the energy market.

Regarding the planned meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, she said that it was not right to put pressure on Ukraine in this way, as it was the victim in this conflict.

According to her, the discussion on Ukraine in Brussels is currently focused on improving sanctions measures and providing targeted support to Ukraine, particularly in the areas of energy security and resilience to sanctions circumvention.
