Šefčovič warns of the consequences of Chinese export controls for EU industry

EU Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič pointed out the serious consequences of China's tightened export controls, which he believes will have a negative impact on European industries.

Following a video call with his Chinese trade counterpart on Tuesday, he announced that both sides had agreed to intensify communication and that Chinese representatives had accepted an invitation to Brussels.

The EU is calling for a rapid easing of restrictions on rare earths, which are crucial to many industries.

At the same time, Šefčovič commented on the situation surrounding the company Nexperia, where a dialogue is currently taking place between the Chinese and Dutch authorities.

He expressed his hope that a solution can be found that will restore smooth deliveries and prevent production losses.
