The violence comes just days after Israeli bombardments—in response to the death of a soldier—killed more than a hundred people. Although

Tel Aviv claims that it continues to adhere to the ceasefire, mutual accusations with Hamas continue. On Thursday, militants handed over the bodies of two Israeli hostages and confirmed that the search for the others would continue.

In exchange for the remains, Israel and Hamas agreed to another exchange—this time for hundreds of fallen militants. However, Israel claims that the delay in handing over the bodies is a violation of the agreement.

The situation in the Gaza Strip remains critical. In two years of war, more than 68,000 people have been killed there.
