Ukraine asks for more Patriots after Russian ballistic missile attack

Russia's night attack on Ukraine was, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky, particularly massive and demonstrative. The Russians used more than 25 ballistic missiles, aerial ballistic missiles and more than 450 drones of various types, Unian news agency reported .

As a result, there have been several civilian casualties - three dead in Dnipro and one in Kharkiv. Zelensky warned that the world's response to Russia's aggression is inadequate and weakness only strengthens Putin's resolve to continue the war.

He stressed the need for increased sanctions and defense supplies, especially Patriot systems that can counter ballistic threats. The Ukrainian defence forces defused more than 400 drones during the attack, shooting down some missiles, but there are limited options against ballistic weapons.

Zelensky also called on government and regional officials to urgently restore power and water supplies in the affected areas. Ukraine is actively working with partners, particularly the United States, to obtain the necessary weapons and international support.
