In central Nigeria, an armed group kidnapped pupils and staff of a Catholic boarding school in the Agwara area on Friday morning. According to DW, the incident was confirmed by police. The exact number of abductees is not yet known, but local television station Arise TV says 52 have been kidnapped.
The gunmen entered the campus between one and three in the morning, kidnapping a security guard, who was shot dead, in addition to students and teachers.
