Berlin and Helsinki welcome progress in Geneva talks

On 24 November, Finnish President Alexander Stubb took to social media to welcome the progress made during the talks between the United States and Ukraine in Geneva the day before. At the same time, he warned that both sides still had major issues to resolve.

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, for his part, described the Geneva talks on adjustments to the 28-point plan to end the war with Russia as a "decisive success" for the Europeans.

He told Deutschlandfunk radio that "all issues concerning Europe, including those concerning NATO, have been removed from this plan - it is a decisive success that we achieved yesterday".

According to Wadephul, it was clear from the beginning that no agreement could be made without the approval of the Europeans and Ukrainians.
