Ukraine and the US will meet again in the coming days, including with Zelensky's participation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukrainian and US delegations will meet later this week to agree on a joint approach to peace negotiations and the creation of security guarantees for Ukraine.

In his evening address, he stressed the Ukrainian delegation's readiness for "meaningful work."

"There will be important talks next week, not with our delegation, but with me," he said. "And we are preparing solid ground for such talks. Ukraine will stand firm on its feet. It will always stand firm."

The meeting follows recent talks in Geneva. Those were described by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio as progressive and arguably the best since Donald Trump took office in January this year.

Having agreed on a version of a peace plan with Ukraine, Washington will subsequently present it to Moscow.
