Medvedev: Over 422,000 people signed contracts with the army last year
Dmitry Medvedev, deputy head of the Russian Security Council, said that 422,704 people signed contracts with the Russian armed forces last year. This was reported by Russian state agencies.
This is lower than in 2024, when, according to available data, approximately 450,000 people interested in joining the army signed contracts.
Medvedev, the former Russian president, presented these figures at a meeting of security officials dedicated to drone technology.
Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed in his December review of the year that recruitment among drone operators was exceptionally strong in 2025.
Medvedev added that another 32,000 people joined volunteer brigades last year and left to fight in Ukraine.
