US President Donald Trump is set to meet with world business leaders in Davos on Wednesday. This was reported by sources familiar with the situation, with Trump's presence dominating this year's World Economic Forum in the Swiss mountain resort.

One of the CEOs approached said he had a "reception in honor of President Donald J. Trump" in his calendar. Another source claims that invitations were sent to global CEOs, not just those from the US. According to one source, the invitations came directly from the White House.

Investor Anthony Scaramucci, who briefly served as White House communications director during Trump's first term, confirmed that he knows about the meeting. "I'm not going. I don't know if I'm invited, but even if I were, I wouldn't want to be there just as an extra," he said.

Trump is scheduled to arrive in Davos on Wednesday, when he is expected to deliver a special speech. He will be accompanied by several high-ranking US officials, including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who is scheduled to hold a press briefing on Monday.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) program has been overshadowed to some extent by Trump's bold political moves, including his recent demand that the United States take control of Greenland.

WEF organizers said that more than 3,000 delegates from 130 countries will attend this year's forum, including 64 heads of state and government, mainly from emerging economies. Several G7 leaders will also be present, with attention focused on changes in US policy under Donald Trump.

Kirill Dmitriev, special envoy of Russian President Vladimir Putin, is also expected to arrive in Davos to meet with members of the US delegation. Sources at Reuters reported this on condition of anonymity.

In addition to the main program, a meeting of national security advisers from several countries will also take place on Monday, at which Greenland will be one of the topics discussed.

According to one European diplomat, the topic of Greenland was added to the agenda after Trump threatened on Saturday to impose additional tariffs on eight European countries if the US did not allow them to buy Greenland.
