Polish minister: Joining the eurozone is not our priority at this time
Polish Finance Minister Andrzej Domański has stated that Warsaw is in no hurry to join the eurozone, as he currently sees no sufficient reasons for adopting the euro. In an interview with the Financial Times, he emphasized that the Polish economy is performing better than most countries that have already introduced the euro.
Poland's GDP growth in the third quarter of 2025 reached 3.8 percent, the highest figure in the last three years and an acceleration from 3.3 percent in the previous quarter. Domański said that more and more data and surveys support the preservation of the zloty.
The eurozone currently consists of 21 countries, with Bulgaria being the newest member, having adopted the euro at the beginning of the year. It was followed by Croatia (2023) and Slovakia (2009).
According to Domaňský, Poland is focusing on its own stability and dynamics, with the single currency not yet a priority.
