Peace talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the US will continue on February 1
Russia, Ukraine, and the United States plan to continue trilateral peace talks in Abu Dhabi on February 1, which could bring progress in resolving the war in Ukraine.
This is a continuation of last weekend's talks, which, according to an unnamed US official, ended on a hopeful note—Zelensky and Putin were reportedly "very close" to agreeing on a face-to-face meeting.
Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov also said that Russia had never ruled out the possibility of a meeting between the presidents, but that the meeting must be thoroughly prepared and results-oriented. Zelensky would be guaranteed security in Moscow, he added.
However, the Ukrainian president has previously rejected the proposal to hold the summit in Moscow and called on Putin to come to Kyiv instead.
