Trump: India will buy Venezuelan oil. Instead of Iranian oil.

On Saturday evening, during a conversation with journalists on Air Force One en route from Washington to Florida, US President Donald Trump said that India would buy Venezuelan oil instead of Iranian oil.

"We have already concluded an agreement, a draft agreement," he added.

According to Reuters sources, Trump's statement came a day after the United States informed India that it would soon be able to resume purchases of Venezuelan oil, replacing imports from Russia.

The US is trying to put pressure on Russian buyers to reduce Russia's oil revenues so that Moscow will be more willing to cooperate in concluding peace in Ukraine.

A similar agreement to that with India would also be welcome in the case of China, which may be another buyer of Venezuelan oil.
