Trump was laughed at at the Grammys for his ties to Epstein
During the Grammy Awards ceremony, host Trevor Noah launched into a sharp satire aimed at US President Donald Trump, according to Variety.
When announcing Billie Eilish as the winner of Song of the Year, he poked fun at Trump's desire to acquire Greenland and linked it to his alleged friendship with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein and former President Bill Clinton.
The joke suggested that after Epstein's death, Trump needed a "new island" where he could spend time with Clinton.
Trump responded indignantly to the comment on the social network Truth Social. He denied all allegations, stated that he had never been to Epstein's island, and accused Noah of spreading lies. He called the presenter a "total failure" and hinted at the possibility of legal action.
The whole incident is unfolding at a time when the scandal surrounding the so-called Epstein files is intensifying in the US. The Department of Justice has released millions of documents in which Donald Trump's name appears repeatedly, along with serious but as yet unresolved allegations.
