Pentagon suspends cooperation with Harvard
The US Department of Defense is suspending academic cooperation with Harvard University, including military education, scholarships, and certifications for active members of the armed forces. This was announced by Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth, confirming the Trump administration's tougher stance toward leading universities.
The Pentagon also indicated that it may reconsider similar ties with other schools.
The White House has long criticized Harvard for its stance on the war in Gaza, its diversity policy, and its internal academic direction. The Trump administration has attempted to strip the university of federal funding and is currently demanding a billion-dollar settlement in its investigation.
Harvard has challenged these actions in court and rejects accusations of anti-Semitism, emphasizing that both Jews and Muslims face discrimination on campus.
