Russia wants to change the balance of power in Europe, warns Estonia

The Estonian Foreign Intelligence Service claims that although Russia does not plan a direct attack on NATO countries in the next two years, it is systematically renewing and strengthening its armed forces.

According to the report, Moscow's main goal is to catch up with and subsequently weaken Europe's growing armament, which the Kremlin perceives as potentially capable of conducting independent military operations against Russia within two to three years.

Russia is therefore trying to "delay and prevent" this process, both politically and strategically.

The report highlights the rapidly growing production of ammunition, which is intended to enable the continuation of the war in Ukraine and, at the same time, to build up stocks for future conflicts. In the event of an attack on Estonia, Moscow would, according to intelligence sources, deploy drones simultaneously on land, in the air, and at sea.

The document also addresses relations with the US, where, according to Estonia, the Kremlin is feigning a willingness to cooperate in order to ease sanctions and push through a solution that is disadvantageous to Ukraine. China also plays an important role, viewing Russia as a strategic partner against the West.
