Fidesz reportedly to release intimate video of Magyara
Hungarian opposition leader Péter Magyar has accused Viktor Orbán's ruling Fidesz party of preparing a smear campaign that includes the release of a secretly recorded intimate video, Euronews reports.
He claims that the recording with his ex-partner could have been made using surveillance equipment and even suggests the involvement of the secret services.
Meanwhile, a photo of a bedroom with the caption "coming soon" is circulating on social media, which he says signals the imminent release of compromising material. Fidesz denies the allegations.
Under Hungarian law, publishing sexually explicit images without consent is a criminal offense.
Tension is mounting ahead of the April 12 parliamentary elections, in which Magyar's Tisza party is leading with 35 percent of the vote, ahead of Fidesz, according to polls. The campaign has also been accompanied by deepfake videos and attacks on activists.
