Navalny was poisoned with a deadly toxin, claim five European countries

The United Kingdom, France, Germany, Sweden, and the Netherlands said in a joint statement that they believe the late Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny was poisoned with a deadly toxin. They reached this conclusion based on an analysis of samples taken after his death in a penal colony two years ago.

According to a statement released in London, tests confirmed the presence of epibatidine, a powerful toxin found naturally in poisonous frogs in South America and not found in Russia. The five countries also expressed concern that Russia had not destroyed all its chemical weapons stockpiles.

The signatories declared that, together with their allies, they would use all available political tools to hold Moscow accountable. The Russian government rejects any responsibility for Navalny's death and has long denied the allegations.
