Transgender man shoots wife and daughter at hockey game
A tragic shooting during a youth hockey game in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, claimed at least three lives, including the attacker.
According to police, 56-year-old Robert Dorgan shot his wife and daughter, while three other people suffered critical injuries. He then turned the gun on himself.
According to local media, Dorgan also used the name Robert and underwent gender reassignment surgery, which allegedly exacerbated family tensions. After the incident, his other daughter said that her father suffered from serious mental health issues.
Court records indicate that he faced conflicts within the family after the surgery. The marriage broke down and the couple divorced in 2021. Authorities have not yet specified the motive for the crime.
